Paining, staining

A poisoned-tipped dart.

Your will, darker

Than your eyes

Drawing, calling

With seductive lies.

Your lips

Colder than a winter's night

Hinting, tinting

Just within my sight.

Your hair

Shimmering in the moonlight

Glowing, flowing

Has me high as a kite.

Your eyes

Trap me in your gaze

Snaring, flaring

An endless maze.

You keep your eyes closed because you fear what you do not know.
You fear the thought of feeling something worse than what's running through your mind
But the unknown is so much larger and impressive than you could have ever thought.

If only you could see

You keep your thoughts to yourself
You're locked up and only you have the key.

You consider the thought of being hurt
You quiver in pain
You consider the thought of affection
But without opening up, you can't feel a thing.

You end up tearing at your heart
You lie and breathe rapidly because of the pain you fear to let in
But in doing so, you've given rise to the real pain
The pain that arises from fear...
